Self Determine your Rating

By knowing your pickleball rating, you can avoid the frustration of playing against someone who is way more advanced (or way less advanced) than you are. Knowing your pickleball skill rating makes it easier for everyone to enjoy the game to its fullest.

1.0-2.0

This player is just starting to play pickleball and has no other sports background. Minimal understanding of rules of the game.

2.0 Assessment Sheet

This player has limited experience. Can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability. Basic ability to keep score.

This player can generally hit forehand drives, serves, and returns with medium pace, as well as dinks, but generally lack consistency and control (for instance, serves and returns are not consistent and lack depth); and (ii) you understand the basic strategy and rules of pickleball, including that you can keep the score properly.

A player who can acknowledge the difference between a hard game and a soft game. They move quickly to the non-volley zone line. They understand when stacking may be effective

A player who is able to identify and attack their opponents’ weaknesses. They are aware of their partner’s position on the court and are able to move as a team.

A player who understands strategy and has good footwork. They are able to communicate and move well with their partner.
